I missed speaking with Carlo, by now were two months
We're not able to do it, not because we didn't want to
but because, as you know, Carlo was literally seized
throughout this long period, a premeditated kidnapping
and studied desk to prevent that He could tell what was
happening, to forbidden him speaking to us and
defend himself.
I am convinced that a man should in any case enjoy their inalienable rights, guilty of not of his crime. In the case of Carlo my conviction is strengthened by the awareness of his innocence, the certainty of being faced with an enormous abuse of law, an abuse exacerbated by recent events.
The story of Carlo is easy to find, just look at the articles in this site (secondoprotocollo.org, ndr) or the site dedicated to him by Katia, I won't repeat for the umpteenth time, all is written pleadings the trial transcription, there's nothing to invent or invented, it is entirely clear as the sun. Even more clear is for people who, like us, has seen further reports that will be delivered by the next legal appeal documents irrefutable, and I say this with the utmost coldness and without conditions of any kind.
Some time ago Carlo predicted to me with coldness lucidity what has happened and I assure you that He didn't make a mistake. He said to me: "You' ll see that if You ripple people, they will try in every way to make me stop talking to you, more evidence you will show, bigger will be their attempts to isolate me". That's what really happened in the last two months exceeded any predictions, also knowing that anyone who has something to hide can react in the wrong way when se himself in danger.
In fact, the "treatment" given to Carlo confirm that we are on the right road, simply submitting evidences. No complaint, no conspiracy to cry or victim, only tests, coldly and systematically, as he has always demanded.
And it's on this that we have based all our work in this period, of course, continuing to require, of course, Carlo's physical protection, a safeguard every times we feared He was in danger. We should thanked the Italian Consulate in Los Angeles which has really followed the story perfectly. On many occasions we found ourselves in the position of not knowing exactly where he was Carlo, told us that he had tuberculosis, then that He had a tumor. He was kept chained to the bed for days, not even able to use an urinal. The examinations on Carlo were invasive, he was subjected to biopsies, without the slightest guarantee or support, as could be having an urinal at hand when needed. Stuff from wild.
On other occasions was the Consulate to be treated badly, to be putted on the wrong track. Several times We saw the jail in which Carlo was refusing to our embassy the sacrosanct right to be able to speak in private with Carlo, an international law, not a village feast. That has confirmed We are on the right track. Someone who has nothing to fear does not impose any restrictions, does not isolate those who can speak.
Now Carlo is again in Avenal and so could call. Things are not improved very much, Carlo has been repeatedly challenged cause the fact of being "famous" and therefore is subject to many small and big bullying, which can seem almost irrelevant for us outside, but for him, now accustomed at life imprisonment, are an important signal, a clear message of danger.

Dear sweet Valerie,
as you can see from the pen writing and the yellow paper I have been able to buy some stationary and coffee and shower shows (I guess you can see it also from the simple fact that I am writing to you since I was left completely without envelops too .
In the past 3 days I have received 10 letters and 2 cards and I assure you that they are a big help in coping with what is going on! I was expecially happy to see a letter form you from the 8 th and another from the 9 th because that tells me that you’re still in contact (I don’t ask you how things are going but please know that I am praying for you and waiting for some words from you whenever you’ll feel up to it).
The letters are so many that I’m gonna take my time during the weekend to reply but I needed to write this first quick response to ask you for help for a couple of practical problems (so you can refer them to Katia and Valentina early next week) and to get out some important info about my situation.
Wednesday I wrote you with my last envelope guessing that my sentence had been postponed because all of a sudden they scratched me from Tuesday the 13th transport to Avenal (no doubts about it being intentional since as I told you they got a non scheduled inmate from this same building to pack up and go at the last minute in my place)! Don’t worry I have not developed a psychical capability I just thought that the only good reason to keep me here would be to “gag me” as they have done for the last 2 months and that would have been useful only to avoid me working and communicating with the outside world while resentencing is pending.
Today I got confirmation in 2 letters of the 10th that my sentencing has been postponed to sometime in December .
A couple of practical things now: I still have not been able to get my properties back so my first problem is that I do not have stamps to write to Italy, can you tell Katia and Enrica of the consulate to get me some or send me some envelops for Italy? (in the meanwhile I‘ll try to trade coffee for some) if I can’t get my stuff back they’ll not let me take with me additional stuff I am concerned about losing this new mail. I have 2 possibilities: help from the consulate to get my properties or add to the packpage or 10-15 more $ on my account because as a stupld I used up the 50 $ katia sent me … . Can you ask katia to do either one? With 10-15 $ I can put the mail in a large envelope and send it to you (as always) and only lose the coffee and small stuff!
Again, tell katia to tell everybody that I‘ll answer as soon as I can find stamps or the consulate helps me, for Valentina Mara Elisa Daniela of carlo_free and Cristina, Elisa of Secondo Protocollo I’ll write also something through you during the weekend … one last thing, Giovanni Bini and Giuseppe Lollodi say I should not think I am the target of “special attention” !!! could katia explain them this latest episode ?
