Dear Gilbert Romero

After my press conference in Frenso on April the 7th, the only answer or justification I received from your office is that Carlo Parlanti has undergone a fair trial. Therefore you think fair a 9 year sentence for a crime that in a logical, physical and juridical point of view is simply absurd or directly taken from the worst science fiction film.
Now, I understand that you may cheat the Frenso Bee journalist, who’s not aware of the records of the trial. But you know very well the records. We have demonstrated beyond any doubt that the trial against Carlo Parlanti is based on false evidences. You can find anything on the web site http://www.carloparlanti.com: sorry if English is not completely correct: the content is translated by non professional volunteers, certainly much better than you could do translating from English to Italian. The evidences are well intelligible and you can find the same evidences also in the trial transcriptions at http://www.thepeoplevscarloparlanti.com: no doubt, in this case, English is correct, since we have got them directly from the Attorney Office.

I don’t understand why the journalist told me that the Us Government (maybe he was thinking about the Attorney) declares that Parlanti fled away to Germany. How could you commit false declaration? You know perfectly well that Carlo was arrested in Germany, where he was temporarily staying for a job meeting, 2 years after the charge report. And you know that he was living in Italy, having residence there, travelling along Europe and Canada. How could a fugitive travel with his official documents and using regular flight services?

In a civil country, like yours, I would have expected much more common sense. To be honest, I would have expected much more respect of the law since the beginning of the trial. And it is true that in the U.S. law, in case of rape, the victim’s declaration is an evidence. But it has to be reliable and not contradictory, as well as investigations have to be accurate. It is logical and clear that photos like the ones showed by mrs White, and appeared after 3 years just after you, Mr Romero, in an email, had complained about the non-existence of proofs, cannot be taken into consideration in Calo Parlanti’s case.

The supposed victim showed the Attorney a calendar that Judge Cloniger refused among the evidences since it had been counterfeited.

Mrs Whites shows false evidences and she can just live quiet and in peace, maybe destroying another family, just like she has done with her previous husband, with Carlo e who knows who else.

This is injury to the real victims of violence. Is injury to human intelligence and injury to the U.S. Constitution.
I just want to believe this is just a enormous mistake, made in good faith. But thanks to this mistake, Carlo Parlanti is dying in the Avenal Prison. The ones who permitted this, not refusing false evidences, are party to homicide and should be prosecuted in a civil country like the U.S. I give you the link to a broadcast about the case on channel 26 Fresno

In the end I am saying that there are counterfeit evidence and we have technical and official data of this. Now what I am asking to the ventura Prosecutor and the American journalists, before saying that Mr Parlanti had a fair trial, is to prove, as we did, that the tests are counterfeits. On the contrary, this would mean that I, Katia Anedda, I am committing a crime and that Carlo Parlanti has committed a crime, but you have to prove it, because ‘till now the only proved thing is that the only victim is Carlo Parlanti. If you are able to prove we are wrong, all the people and Italian and European politicians that are asking for justice, will stop. Otherwise we will continue to ask for justice.

On Channel 26 California: a video about Carlo Parlanti. It's astonishing to see how the DA answers when facing the demonstration of the fake evidences used in trial. Infact he keeps on saying that it's been a fair trial. Fair... just because he and other 12 jurors of Ventura County, who are completely ignorant about law, say that. Jurors who've been in jail, or had at least a family member imprisoned... But hey, they say it's been a fair trial. So, foreigner, taste our prisons!

5th Feb. '08. Update.

GLOBAL TEL (prison's phone service provider) allows international phone calls from inmates in Avenal and finally we've found out how it works.

Step 1: you have to do a "QUICK PAY" through WESTERN UNION. It's important to know that only few Western Union agencies rely on FININT and you need this service. Call the customer phone number in order to discover where's the righ Western Union agency near you (in Italy the number to call is 800 464 464). Step 2: The account number must be composed by 011 + international code number + city code number + phone number

Step 3: Charge money. Charges are supposed to be of 25$, 50$, 75$ and so on. But expect to have troubles... Usually Western Union objections are:

A) There's no "Global Tel" in AL (Alberta), we've got a different code and it's not VGTLAL.
The solution is calling the customer phone number or going in a W.U. agency who relies on FININT. Then say you need to do a Quick Pay to a company that isn't in the agency list and that you're sure it exists because other people already did succefull payments.

B) Ok we've found the company, but it doens't accept the account number; we need the account number of the company.
You're in the right agency but, somehow, your account number isn't accepted Check again the number (example: I want to register my italian number 06 244444 so the account will be: 0113906244444) If it keeps not working, ask to delete the 011 then send an email (remember to write the transaction number that's on the bill) to AdvancePayInternational@gtl.net and ask to change the number, adding again the 011 at the beginning. It should work.

Finally, when you'll receive a call from the prison, you need to answer the phone clearly and pretty loud. A recordered voice will tell you that you're going to receive a call from Avenal and that it is from "voice of the inmate saying his name", then again the english voice will tell you to press 5 to accept . Do it and it's done.

In the US there's no need to go to Western Union. You can just pay online or register your number (1-800...) and even receive the payment on the phone bill.

21st Dec. '07, Update. Life in prison can destroy any will of improvement or just survival.
Carlo's working hard to stay alive both physically and spiritually and learning is a great way. The pdf files below are here to testify all the commitment he put into improving himself by finding useful opportunities even in that though prison. Many guys there just lose their personality, interests and so their will to life. But not Carlo. So, our congratulations to him for the two certificates received: 14 hours of anger management and ordination in the Universal Life Church.

What happened

Carlo Parlanti, born in Montecatini the 1st of Nov. 1964, is an Italian citizen shut in Ventura prison (California), since June the 3rd 2005, after being accused of seizure, domestic violence and rape to the ex coliving partner Rebecca McKay White, an American woman who was 43 in 2002 (year of the report).

Carlo Parlanti - a man with strong moral principles, a life started (as many other people) in a Tuscan middle class family, with a good scholastic curriculum, a marked curiosity for culture and literature - is an IT manager with a brilliant professional curriculum, demanded by several US companies, and with the rank of lieutenant at the service of the Italian State (in the reserve of the national Army).

To understand better, it's necessary to run through what happened, before and after his arrest, again.

We can summarize the story in a few lines:

Arrest after two years from the report: Carlo Parlanti didn't even know he'd been reported to the police. The Italian government didn't issue any kind of report or announcement, even though Parlanti had domicile in Italy where he was living.

Arrest and extradiction from Europe (Germany) to the USA, on the grounds of the mere statements of the alleged victim. Statements that, later, have been retracted several times and that have not been proved by any evidence.

Dispute between Milan DA and Minister of Justice about how to deal with this case.

Indifference demonstrated by our State Departments despite all the inconsistencies reported.

Farce-Trial: the alleged victim describes events that are physically and biologically impossible.

Conviction to 9 years of detention that the judge justified by saying that even though there are no medical reports and the victim has been so inconsistent describing unreal events, this may have occurred because of serious brain damages caused by Parlanti to Ms. White.
Serious brain damages and no need of any kind of medical assistance, so there are no medical documents about Rebecca White's health situation...

Concerning alcohol...

I've found a very interesting website, about alcohol's effects on human body.
Rebecca White said that Carlo drank 4 litres of wine in about 5-6 hours.
The DUI expert already said that this can't be possible, and you can verify all this by taking a very simple test offered by INTOX.COM. So, RW testified that Carlo's weight was 165 lb (about 75 kg, but he actually was 175 lb/80 kg) and that he drank 2 two-litres bottles (about 5 1/2 bordeaux sized bottles).
We know that a glass of wine is about 148 ml so, considered that he should have drunk 4 litres, Carlo is supposed to have drunk 28 glasses of wine.
Table wine has an alcoholic content that goes from 7% to 14%.
Rw said that Carlo drank Chardonnay, which has 12,5% of alcohol (as testified by the DUI expert).
The test is taken considering the minor percent (7%). Take the test and you'll be astonished reading that Carlo should have been dead! He should have had 0,461 bac... and you die at 0.45
